Madras School of Social Work cherishes its humble beginnings, starting from its founder and renowned social worker, Mrs. Mary Clubwala Jadhav and her leadership in building this college. It also takes immense pride in the number of its alumni members who have left the portals of this college and still continue to contribute in different ways to the growth of this institution.
With the number of graduates increasing every year and the need to meet the challenges of the competitive world, the college initiated its Placement Cell in January 2009. Thereafter, the Placement Cell has been coordinating all the placement activities of the students, with support from the Faculty and the Student coordinators. The Placement Cell holds regular meetings of the student leaders, facilitated by the Placement Coordinator.
As you must know by now, Madras School of Social Work offers various courses namely MSW (aided) and MSW (self-financed) with specializations in Human Resource Management and Integrated Social Work; M.A.HRM and M.Sc. Counselling Psychology. All these courses are two-year full time programmes with varied fieldwork components in every semester. The students are provided with Skill development labs in every semester which helps them hone their professional skills.
The college offers immense growth opportunities for the students and encourages them to organize seminars and workshops and participate in various intra and inter-collegiate academic and co-curricular competitions. We believe that this two-year training enables our students to develop their leadership skills and their concern for people in the organization and will motivate them to exhibit their mettle in any challenging situation.
The Placement Cell constantly collaborates with the Alumni Association (MSSWA) for its various activities. It appreciates the efforts of the alumni members in guiding and mentoring our students year after year and for the interest they show in employing our students.
