MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK (MSW)

Aided and Self-Financed Streams

The objective of this course is to prepare candidates for a career in social work through a professional training programme. The course is a two-year full time programme covering four semesters. The foundation course comprises theory in social work, research methodology and applications that support the understanding of core courses. Besides these two areas of specializations are also offered, viz.

• Integrated Social Work

• Human Resource Management

 Admission

Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Arts, Science or Commerce of the University of Madras or of any other University accepted as equivalent by the University of Madras .

Admission will be based on merit taking into account marks secured in degree course, entrance test, group discussion and interview. Community quota allotments will be as per TN Government Rules for the Aided programme. A student may opt for any one of the fields of specialization. No change in the field of specialization will be permitted after admission.

Application form, including copy of prospectus, for Graduate, Post Graduate, Diploma and M.Phil. programmes can be obtained from the College office and the respective program offices during the month of May for all the Courses. Last date for receipt of completed application forms will be given in the Prospectus.
