MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.Sc. Counselling Psychology)

Self-Financed

 The Master of Science program in Counseling & Guidance is an intensive two-year full-time course which is a combination of class-room instruction, field practice and research. The course is designed to prepare young men and women to work as psychological counselors in various agencies like Government, NGO and private practice. The course covers research methodology, counseling theory and skills, work place counseling, health psychology, children with special needs, behaviour modification besides psychological assessment.

The course duration is two years consisting of four semesters.

 Admission

A candidate who has passed B.A / B.Sc Psychology Degree examination or any of the following subjects, Bachelor of Social Work, BA Sociology, BSc Home Science/ Human Development/ Child Development, BA Philosophy and B. Ed, either from University of Madras or from other Universities accepted by the University of Madras as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission to this course.

Admission will be based on aptitude and merit, taking into account marks obtained in degree course and performance in test and interview.

 Application Forms

Application form, including copy of prospectus, for Graduate, Post Graduate, Diploma and M.Phil. programmes can be obtained from the College office and the respective program offices during the month of May for all the Courses. Last date for receipt of completed application forms will be given in the Prospectus.
